Processing Your Calibration
Updated over 4 months ago

Now that the videos are uploaded to the session, you are now able to process a calibration followed by your action takes.

Processing your calibration:

  1. Click the ‘+ Calibration’ button to create a new calibration

    1. If the button is not available, the system has not received videos from the expected number of cameras. Check the video bank at the bottom to see if all of your files have uploaded, and you have the same quantity of cameras as you selected when creating the session, shown at the top of the page.

  2. Select the videos to be used - if the files are named consistently, you’ll only need to select it on one camera, and the system will select the same videos from the other cameras (they will highlight green)

  3. Watch the video and note down the following timestamps:

    1. The time the actor begins clapping (if you videos are not already sync’d)

      1. If your cameras began recording at slightly different times, enter the time from the earliest camera.

    2. The time the actor finishes clapping (if you videos are not already sync’d)

      1. If your cameras began recording at slightly different times, enter the time from the latest camera.

    3. The time the actor begins the Y-pose

      1. The footage will now be in sync, so enter the time from the earliest camera.

    4. The time the actor finishes the Y-pose

      1. Again, enter the time from the earliest camera.

  4. Click ‘Save’

  5. Confirm the correct files are selected

  6. Give your calibration a name, by default it will use the file name

  7. Select your actor - this is the person who performed the calibration. You can create a new profile if this is their first calibration - You will need to know their height for this (without footwear), but don’t worry this is saved so you don’t need to enter it each time.

  8. ‘Calib autosync videos’ - This feature should be enabled if you are using the claps to synchronize your footage. If your footage is already synchronized you can disable this feature.

    1. Enter the times you noted down - when the actor begins and finishes the clapping.

  9. ‘Calib process entire video’ - This feature should be disabled, unless you have trimmed your videos begin in the Y-pose sequence (only possible when using synchronized cameras).

    1. Enter the times you noted down - when the actor begins and finishes the Y-pose sequence.

  10. Click ‘Save and Run’

When your calibration has finished, take a look and check your calibration

Clap sync explained

The platform looks for the audio peak from the clap and automatically synchronises all clips for that calibration or take. The aim platform prompts you to set a Clap Start Time and a Clap End Time. Setting this time range i.e. from 00:01 to 00:04 in your Calibration or Take helps narrow down the system’s automatic search window.
